This is probably the most helpful book I accept ever read. Affiliate by chapter, the book goes over the various aspects of a higher pupil's academic, personal, and work life. The book details each harmful choice that could be made (procrastination, truancy, poor studying skills) and what causes the student to make these seemingly idiotic choices. By exploring the motivations behind the negative choices, the book allows the student to understand why they are made and and then teaches the corrective be This is probably the most helpful book I have always read. Chapter by chapter, the book goes over the various aspects of a college student's bookish, personal, and work life. The book details each harmful selection that could be made (procrastination, truancy, poor studying skills) and what causes the educatee to make these seemingly idiotic choices. By exploring the motivations backside the negative choices, the book allows the pupil to understand why they are made and then teaches the corrective behavior accordingly.
The book is also divided into a number of "Journal Entries" that the students are meant to make. These Journal Entries allow the student to delve deep into their own psyche and develop a better agreement of themselves. The main points of each affiliate are inherent in the Journal entries, and doing the entries allows the pupil a chance to explore their ain motivations, thought processes, emotional intelligence, etc. The book encourages you to delve deeper into yourself and through that, to go a ameliorate person.
Although these things can exist said nigh whatever self-assist book, I feel that this one truly made a divergence. I came out of this book understanding much better how I think the way I do and why. Beyond this, I came out of this volume with the tools needed to brand the right choices. Am I a perfect educatee at present? No, in fact I am very backside in my piece of work right at present. Exercise I understand why I am behind now? Yes. Do I understand how to become ahead? Yes, and I truly believe myself capable of it now. I think that is the real blessing that this volume has given me.

I consider this book , the well-nigh useful book for whatever student . The book enrich your written report skills with comparison between struggling students and successful students.Also, The book enhance personal and work skills .

It was alright, only I actually felt similar near of this was common noesis and relatively direct-frontward. Required textbook.

This was a textbook for one of my classes. I read the majority of information technology before school started, and I'k glad I did. So today, I merely finished the final section in the back well-nigh study tips. Information technology helped get me into a good mindset for college and just kind of life in general. I'g trying not to be cheesy correct now. This book is merely pretty such nigh self-responsibly. I liked it and I'1000 glad that this was the required textbook for that form. 3.5 stars

I learned alot from this book in schoolhouse in the fall semester 2010 w\ the fifth edition . Nevertheless take my journal assignments that came from the book . I really enojoyed the book . It as something that I felt that I learned about myself as a person and how I learn my math . I was weak in math until I took the class that correspond w\ the volume and my teacher who taught the class did a wonderful job w\ the material that was in the book . This book is an excellent tool in any college success class I learned alot from this book in school in the fall semester 2010 w\ the fifth edition . Still take my journal assignments that came from the book . I really enojoyed the volume . It every bit something that I felt that I learned nigh myself as a person and how I learn my math . Even though information technology's designed for college students, I call up everybody should read it if they get the chance.
A new, or presently to be higher student should read it as well, to let them know if they are really ready, and to aid them forth the way. read this for a class I was hoping I would non need to take. This seems overly dramatic, but out of honesty. This volume fell into my lap a few years ago while life felt equally though it was hanging by a thread. If there was ever a book to save a college student from themselves, this is it.
I still pick this text up when I lose all perspective. Effective practices that anyone tin travel with at all points of life. :)

very helpful. has steps, behaviors and habits to use to keep yourself on class to your dreams and goals. it is very motivational.
I actually read the 8th edition. Has some expert ideas that I hope to add to my work with students in trouble.
